Scientist

Fisheries and Aquatic Ecology

Activities

Current Position

Researcher & Associate Professor

Head of the major in Quantitative Fisheries Ecology, Master degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture Science, Institut Agro.

vice-Director of the research unit

Skills

  • Population dynamics, demography, life cycle, life history traits
  • Fisheries ecology and Fich stock assessment
  • Statistical modelling, hierarchical models, integrated models
  • Bayesian modelling
  • Quantification and propagation of uncertainty, risk analysis

Research

  • Response of populations to multiple natural or anthropic stressors
  • Population dynamics and variation of life history traits of anadromous fishes
  • Fish stock assessment
  • Bayesian hierarchical models for the analysis of integrated large dimensional ecological models, including multiple sources of variability and stochasticity in processes and data

A common thread throughout my research is a strong emphasis on the development and application of innovative methods for modelling complex multi-level ecological data for assessing the past, current and future status of marine populations and ecosystems in the face of multiple pressures.
